1. What This Website Is

This is an independent private reference site, not a government service. It does not possess official records, obtain records on a visitor's behalf, perform an official background check, or submit filings for anyone.

Its role is to identify Baylor County record custodians, including the sheriff, criminal courts, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry, while also providing links to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use of the website is conditioned on an agreement not to:

• Use bots, scrapers, or other automated means against the pages
• Violate a federal, Texas, or local law through use of the site
• Interfere with site operation or another visitor's access
• Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or restricted area
• Use information to stalk, threaten, or harass another person
• Rely on site content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use information obtained here or through a linked tool to stalk, threaten, intimidate, harass, or discriminate against a person. Such conduct may be criminal. This restriction is especially important for the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62 and the registry warning limit misuse, and conduct directed at a listed person may lead to criminal penalties. Registry publication serves safety awareness, not vigilantism or unlawful blacklisting or discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Baylor County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and creates no credit report, background check, or consumer report. Its advertising partners likewise do not offer services designed to evaluate applicants, renters, insurance risk, or creditworthiness. Information from this website or a linked tool must not be used to:

• Determine eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
• Make a hiring or termination decision
• Evaluate a rental or housing application
• Assess creditworthiness or establish an insurance premium
• Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

A check for a regulated purpose must be obtained through the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division when appropriate or through a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

The content is not legal advice. General explanations of Baylor County records cannot determine how a warrant, conviction, charge, expunction, or nondisclosure rule applies to one person's facts. Seek advice from a Texas-licensed attorney.

6. No Warranties

All website content and functions are supplied "as is." No warranty is made that:

• Partner search results will be complete or correct
• The information is accurate, complete, or current
• The pages contain no defect, error, or security vulnerability

8. Intellectual Property

Text, logos, graphics, and code belong to Baylor County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, altered, distributed, or used to create derivative material without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for damages arising from website use, including reliance on content found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, demands, or proceedings resulting from your website use or violation of these terms, including related costs and legal fees.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. Any proceeding arising from use of the website must be brought in a court located in Texas. Government-record access remains subject to the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, while Texas DPS criminal-history dissemination is governed by Government Code §§411.083 and 411.135.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revised version becomes effective when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may suspend or terminate access at any time, for any reason, and without prior notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, every remaining provision stays effective. The affected language will be modified only to the extent needed to make it enforceable.
