Why We Built This Site
Texas record access is spread across systems with different purposes. The Baylor County Sheriff's Office creates sheriff incident, arrest, intake, transport, and warrant material, but Baylor County has no rated county jail or county inmate roster. Court clerks hold filed charges, dockets, judgments, and dispositions. The Texas Department of Public Safety, Crime Records Division administers the Computerized Criminal History repository and its public conviction name search. Texas Department of Criminal Justice records address state custody, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry is a separate DPS product. Bringing verified contacts, portals, fees, and request routes together makes those boundaries easier to follow.

- Official check steps: how DPS name searches differ from fingerprint-based personal record review

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site, not part of a Texas court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. Its role has firm limits:
- It cannot retrieve a person's record or perform an official background check.
- It cannot submit an expunction petition, public-record request, or other filing for a reader.
- It cannot provide a certified court document, criminal-history record, or rap sheet.
- It cannot offer legal advice about a charge, case, or eligibility for record relief.
- It cannot promise that an agency's address, fee, hours, or telephone number has not changed.
An official record must come from its custodian, such as the Baylor County sheriff or court clerk, Texas DPS, or another issuing agency.
Search Partners
Search boxes on some pages are supplied by independent providers. Each provider operates its own service, chooses its prices, and controls its results. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee for this site, which supports free public access to the reference material. The provider, not Baylor County Criminal History, determines the content and cost of its search product.
